Today, most of the joints can benefit from an arthroscopic surgery.
The knee
Today knee arthroscopy is commonly performed for diagnosing and checking of the knee pathologies; the sport traumatology causing meniscus injury, anterior cruciate ligament injury and sometimes cartilage microfracturing can benefit from the arthroscopic surgery (Cruciate ligament repair, resection, meniscus suture, intervention on cartilage microfracturing).
Some inflammatory or infectious pathologies can also be treated using arthroscopy. In some cases of knee osteo-arthristis, an arthroscopic lavage can be performed in order to reduce the pain in the knee section.
The shoulder
The arthroscopy is as well indicated for shoulder pathologies. The most frequent indications are for the pathologies of the rotator cuff, some tendinitis, calcifications or foreign bodies, shoulder instabilities or recurring shoulder dislocations.
The other joints
The ankle, the hip, the elbow, the wrist, and the spine, can in certain cases benefit from the progress of the arthroscopic surgery. For example, the carpal tunnel syndrome can be treated by arthroscopic surgery. Persistent ankle pain related to sport traumatology or some cases of ankle osteoarthritis can benefit from an arthroscopic treatment.
